Let me talk about the trip my best friend Laura and I took to San Francisco not long ago. Since it had been four years since my last trip to the city, I was very excited to eat, shop, and explore for a few days. Laura and I carefully planned our trip, making sure to stop at restaurants and breakfast spots that we wanted to try. It was a great choice for us to stay at the beautiful Palace Hotel San Francisco. The hotel was lovely, and our time there made memories that we will always treasure. Both of us wanted to go back soon. From eating delicious food to seeing new places, every part of our trip was unique and will stay with us forever. Being with each other was so much fun, and it made us want to go back to San Francisco soon.
Day 1: Thursday
Arrival and Bad Experiences:
- When I got there in the morning, I walked around Union Square and went shopping at Barneys and Sephora while I waited for Laura.
- Even though we were excited, the service and food at Nespresso Boutique were not very good. We quickly forgot about it as we checked into our cozy room at the Palace Hotel.
Nopa for dinner:
- A great dinner at Nopa made up for our bad night. The wait was worth it because the food and drinks were so good.
Getting to Know Fillmore Street:
- At the end of the day, we went to Fillmore Street and shopped at Space NK and Atelier Cologne while taking it easy.
Day 2: Friday
We went to Tartine Bakery and Alamo Square:
- We began the day by going to the famous Tartine Bakery. Next, we stopped by Alamo Square to take in the view and look at the Painted Ladies.
Going to Gary Danko for dinner and shopping for beauty products:
- We did some shopping for beauty products on Fillmore Street and then had a great dinner at Gary Danko, which is known for its delicious food and friendly setting.
Day 3: Saturday
When you hike at Land’s End:
- The weather was cloudy, but we went on a walk at Land’s End anyway and enjoyed the beautiful views.
Mishaps in the kitchen:
- Our food experiences took us to Saigon Sandwich, where our high hopes were dashed, and Miette, where the pastries did not live up to the hype.
Garden Creamery and the Golden Gate Bridge:
- We tried some new tastes at Garden Creamery before going to the Golden Gate Bridge to try to catch the sunset, but it was foggy.
Day 4: Sunday
Shopping and Golden Gate Park:
- The last day we were there, we went to Golden Gate Park and checked out the Conservatory of Flowers and did some shopping.
Additional Notes:
How to Get Around the City:
- Public transportation in San Francisco, such as Muni, Bart, and Uber, made it easy to get around the city.
Thoughts on the Weather:
- Even though we looked at the weather reports, we weren’t ready for how random the weather is in San Francisco, so we layered up.
Unfinished Stories:
- A lot of ground was covered, but there’s still a lot more to see in San Francisco. We made a list of places to go on future trips.
